INTRODUCTION
In 2007 Brookland Computer Services and Level Platforms formed a Hosting Service and reseller partnership to bring industry leading system and network monitoring services to the UK. This technology has proven invaluable throughout the US and Canada over the last 5 years but only now can UK business and IT providers enjoy the same level of service and performance.
Brookland have over 10 years experience in serving the UK Market, much of which has included providing business critical hosted services where reliability and performance are vital. The services will be provided and managed in the UK by qualified Brookland staff. We have worked closely with Level Platforms to tailor the product and services to the UK market where our experience and understanding of UK Businesses and IT Service companies has helped to make this a clear market leader.
The Core technology is highly advanced yet works to a very simple principle. A small software application (can be part of an appliance) is installed on the customer Local Area Network where it will automatically scan the network for all computer and network equipment which is then entered into the asset database. As long as each piece of equipment is set to use any one of several industry protocols then the monitoring software can collect a wide range of technical information and monitor system status or health. All the information gathered is securely transmitted back to the Network Operation Centre (NOC) which is hosted and Managed Directly by Brookland. The NOC can generate alerts (To the Network Manager, Helpdesk or external 3rd party), create reports, reconfigure the information collected, manage all information, control patch deployment and role out updates all from one system. The NOC can also interface directly with many partner products (i.e. helpdesk software and asset management)
In short we can gather, process and report on more information than was ever possible before and in real time; this gives a truly proactive opportunity to Service Providers.
ARCHITECTURE
Our technology uses innovative patented network communications to deliver a highly scalable and reliable platform from which to deliver a comprehensive managed services offering.
One of the key advantages is our “Agent-Less Deployment” this allows us to install the software (or an appliance) only once on your LAN but still monitor all your IT. Unlike others we do not need to install agents on every PC and Server which can be very time consuming and can interfere with existing systems.
- Simple Deployment – Installation of a single light weight software component or appliance.
- Limited Bandwidth Usage – The Onsite Manager has been optimized for minimal network traffic.
- Secure – Full SSL support and no inbound communication or open port requirements.
- Easy Configuration and Maintenance – When new devices are brought online or reconfigured, the Onsite Manager instantly detects and begins managing those devices.
MONITORING
We monitor all IP based devices at a customer’s site based on industry best-practice monitoring policies supplied via the Managed Workplace template library or via custom rules designed by you.
Monitoring of all critical network components such as workstations, servers, applications, websites, network services, network devices (i.e. firewalls and routers) are all available through industry based standards and protocols (WMI, SNMP, Syslog, NetBios, ICMP, XML, etc) used widely within a typical network environment.
